The private sector number for May was depressed by 34,000 due to Verizon strike.
Prior month revisions: April total jobs growth was revised down by 37,000 from a gain of 160,000 to a gain of 123,000 .
March growth was revised down by 22,000 from a gain of 208,000 to a gain of 186,000 .
