BLS Payrolls: Publication anomaly for November very large this year.

With the release of the January 2015 Benchmark Revision last week: The BLS Seasonally Adjusted gain in Non-Farm Payrolls for November 2014 was actually only 340,000 and not 423,000 – their published but not revised number.

This is due to the nature of the BLS’s publication schedule. Please see: BLS Payroll Seasonal Adjustment Revisions Explained.

We plan to publish the consistent BLS numbers on an on-going basis.
